Inpatient Alcohol Rehab & Alcoholism Treatment Raleigh NC

As the capital of the Tarheel State, Raleigh, N.C., enjoys many amenities of small-town Southern life. At the same time, it also faces problems plaguing other cities around the country, including alcoholism and alcohol abuse.

As the largest residential substance abuse treatment provider in the state of Tennessee, Cornerstone of Recovery is located 5 hours west of Raleigh, North Carolina, and we offer an alcoholism treatment program that’s built on 30 years of success. Over that time, we’ve grown from 18 beds to more than 100, and from 22 staff members to 250. At the same time, we’ve helped thousands of alcoholics stop using drinking, lose the desire to do so and find a new way to live.

We don’t help them get their old lives back, because as a facility where more than 90 percent of the clinical staff is in recovery themselves, we know from personal experience that our old lives weren’t very fulfilling anyway. Even before we started drinking, we didn’t feel comfortable in our own skin, and we never felt like we fit in with the rest of the world. That’s what made alcohol so appealing; those things became chemical suits of armor that allowed us to function … until they turned on us and became the thing that imprisoned us. At Cornerstone, we offer freedom — from the shackles of alcoholism, as well as from a life that was unfulfilling long before you twisted the cap off the bottle.

the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery

We’ve been in the business of treatment for addiction and alcoholism for almost 30 years, and in our early days, we even did treatment just over the state line in North Carolina. Now, we’re located on a single four-facility campus just outside of Knoxville, and we’re the largest residential alcohol and drug rehab in the state of Tennessee. Our enormous growth since 1989 is a direct result of our success in treating addicts and alcoholics; in other words, we know what we’re doing, and what we’re doing is changing lives.

North Carolina Outreach Manager

Jess Gupton

As Cornerstone of Recovery’s North Carolina Regional Outreach Manager, Jess Gupton often finds herself sharing her personal story of experience, strength and hope.

Her job takes her from her home in Asheville, which she shares with her partner, Vanessa; to Raleigh  and beyond. She works closely with North Carolina businesses and companies to introduce Cornerstone’s proven track record of successful addiction treatment into new markets and industries. Her position involves a great deal of networking and establishment of new business contacts, but the most rewarding part of it, she says, is the time she spends with patients.

As Cornerstone’s primary point of contact in North Carolina, she’s often the face of Cornerstone to those who come to our 23-acre campus near Knoxville, Tenn., for residential addiction treatment. She’s a testament to the almost 30-year track record Cornerstone has of successfully delivering addicts and alcoholics from the depths of despair into the light of recovery, a path she knows all too well. By the time she found it herself in 2012, she was at the end of the road.

What Does Treatment Involve?

You can be one of those lives changed. We recognize that it’s difficult to do anything about your problem when you’re trapped in the quicksand of the consequences it’s created, which is why we encourage you to consider getting out of the Raleigh area to get clean and learn how to live a fulfilling life in recovery.

We have the therapeutic tools to help you do that – proven clinical approaches that help you process trauma and issues that preceded your alcoholism as well as those exacerbated or caused by it, and we do so in one of four primary treatment programs:

Newcomers Alcoholism Treatment Program

The Newcomer’s Program, designed for first-time treatment clients who have little to no exposure to recovery or life without the use of alcohol and drugs

Young Adult Residential

The Young Adult Program, built specifically for young people ages 18 to 26 whose addiction has led to a vocational and emotional dead end

Recovery Renewal Program

The Recovery Renewal Program, which is a more rigorous path designed to help those who have been through treatment before to address the issues that keep them from maintaining long-term sobriety

Women's Alcohol Rehab Program

The Women’s Program, a refuge for females who need space and time to process the trauma that is so often unique to addicted women.

In addition, we offer safe, medically supervised detox; Support Living facilities on campus for all clients; and a comprehensive outpatient rehab program that adds an additional level of treatment for those who leave inpatient but aren't ready to return home to Raleigh.

What Happens Next?

At Cornerstone, all of our patients find that regardless of their place in the socio-economic hierarchy, they have one overwhelming thing in common with their peers: They’ve fallen victim to a deadly disease that’s destroyed their lives and led them to the brink of emotional ruin. For each and every one of them, the goal of treatment at Cornerstone is the same: a life free of bondage, open to the possibilities of recovery, unhindered by the dread of requiring a drink or a drug to cope. From the moment you call us, you become a potential part of that process, and while it may seem, during your darkest hour, that hope is impossible, we have it in abundance.

Why Consider Leaving Raleigh For Treatment

Can you find good treatment for alcohol addiction in Raleigh? Maybe, but we know that you can definitely find it at Cornerstone. We identify co-occurring disorders and target mental health issues that often present alongside alcohol and drug addiction, and while your treatment options are certainly plentiful in the Raleigh area, at Cornerstone you’ll be removed from the town where you did so much of your drinking.

At Cornerstone, you’ll be able to put yourself back together with the help of our clinically trained staff members — many of them in recovery themselves — so that when the time comes to return home, you can do so as a stronger, more grounded individual who has a recovery plan in place and dreams for the future that can only be accomplished through sobriety.
