Inpatient Alcohol Rehab & Alcoholism Treatment Raleigh NC

In 2019, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services released some disturbing information about alcoholism, labeling it "the third leading preventable cause of death in North Carolina" and pointing out that "excessive drinking has been trending upward based on data from 2012-2017." In addition, 30 percent of North Carolina adults reported binge drinking in the previous 30 days, and 11 percent reported drinking heavily. Like the rest of the country, resident of North Carolina — and by extension, those who live in or near Raleigh — have a love affair with alcohol, but what can they do when it crosses over into problem drinking?

Fortunately for those who live in or near Raleigh, one of the most reputable alcoholism treatment centers in the country is located five hours to the west, just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee, only 20 miles from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Cornerstone of Recovery was founded by a recovering alcoholic in 1989, and over the past three decades, we've built his vision into a place that's so much more than just another alcohol rehab. We provide a continuum of care that's unrivaled in the Southeast, and we accept patients from across the region — including many seeking alcoholism treatment in or near Raleigh.

Their journey begins in our medically supervised detox program, which helps them safely and comfortably wean from the devastating physical withdrawals that can accompany stopping drinking. Afterward, they'll enter one of our four residential inpatient treatment programs: Newcomers, for individuals seeking alcoholism treatment for the first time; Recovery Renewal, specifically designed for those who have previous alcohol rehab stays or periods of abstinence but have been unable to remain sober; Young Adult, for men ages 18 to 26; and our unique Women's Program, a safe haven for females who need their own place in which to process the issues that can accompany their alcoholism.

We're in network with most private and commercial insurance policies, and we do it all out of a 25 acre, four facility campus that opened in 2017 and includes amenities that make our patients' stays as comfortable and engaging as possible. From physical exercise in our state-of-the-art fitness center to meals on the patio of the dining hall overlooking the Little River to multiple treatment modalities to dual diagnosis treatment for those with co-occurring mental health issues, we work to be so much more than an alcohol rehab. We're a place for individuals from Raleigh to seek a new way of life, free of the bondage of alcohol.

Your Recovery Journey Begins Here

the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery

We’ve been in the business of treatment for addiction and alcoholism for almost 30 years, and in our early days, we even did treatment just over the state line in North Carolina. Now, we’re located on a single four-facility campus just outside of Knoxville, and we’re the largest residential alcohol and drug rehab in the state of Tennessee. Our enormous growth since 1989 is a direct result of our success in treating addicts and alcoholics; in other words, we know what we’re doing, and what we’re doing is changing lives.

Three Reasons Why You Need to Call Today to Get Addiction and Alcoholism Treatment

  • We’re in the middle of great economic uncertainty. Unemployment rates reached their highest levels in history in April, which means COVID-19 took a catastrophic toll on the job market this spring. If you have a job — or even if you don’t, but you still have benefits provided by your previous place of employment — you’re fortunate. And you should take advantage of those benefits to get the help you need for a drug or alcohol problem today, because there’s no guarantee you’ll have the resources to do so down the road.

  • No one is truly certain what life in the time of coronavirus looks like going forward. Yes, there are still new cases being logged daily, and yes, it’s certainly a health concern for anyone and everyone. But if you’re struggling with addiction and alcoholism, you’re already sick — and the disease you’re battling is far more likely to claim your life than COVID-19. Overdose deaths kill more Americans annually than all combat deaths in the Vietnam War, and alcohol-related deaths claim 88,000 lives yearly. If you have an alcohol or drug problem, you’re more likely to become one of those statistics than a COVID-19 victim.

  • Putting it off for another day is no longer an option. You may tell yourself that it is … and you may have made it this far without treatment … but are you truly living? In our experience — and many of us who work at Cornerstone are in recovery ourselves — suffering from addiction and alcoholism is just existing. Our problems slowly get worse, our health slowly declines and we’re stuck in wreckage of our own making, until we’re faced with two choices: get help, or lose everything. Why wait until the latter when with a simple phone call, you can choose the former?

What Does Treatment Involve?

You can be one of those lives changed. We recognize that it’s difficult to do anything about your problem when you’re trapped in the quicksand of the consequences it’s created, which is why we encourage you to consider getting out of the Raleigh area to get clean and learn how to live a fulfilling life in recovery.

We have the therapeutic tools to help you do that – proven clinical approaches that help you process trauma and issues that preceded your alcoholism as well as those exacerbated or caused by it, and we do so in one of four primary treatment programs:

Newcomers Inpatient Program

For 28 to 35 days, residents of our Newcomers Alcoholism Treatment Program get a crash course in alcoholism as a disease, as well as a host of therapeutic tools to help them discover why it's done so much damage to their bodies, minds and spirits. From clinical therapy to peer support to 12 Step facilitation, we introduce individuals to the concept that they're sick people who need to get better, not "bad" or "broken" people.

Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program

The goal of alcoholism treatment is to restore those who suffer to a semblance of normalcy ... but relapse happens. It doesn't mean the individual is a failure; it simply means they have more work to do, and in our Recovery Renewal Alcoholism Treatment Program, we help patients with previous alcohol rehab stays or periods of abstinence get past the roadblocks that have prevented them from staying sober.

Young Adult Inpatient Program

Young men ages 18 to 26 often face different issues than their older peers, and their drinking may have prevented them from achieving the life goals some of their peers have. That's a big reason the Young Adult Alcoholism Treatment Program is designed for younger patients, so that they're met on their level and given an opportunity to grow into the responsible, productive members of society we know them to be.

Women Only Inpatient Program

Women seeking alcoholism treatment have different needs than their male counterparts. In our unique Women's Program, we'll meet those needs with a gender-specific safe place for them to process and deal with those issues, while receiving the same continuum of care that we provide all patients who come to us seeking sobriety.

In addition, we offer safe, medically supervised detox; Support Living facilities on campus for all clients; and a comprehensive outpatient rehab program that adds an additional level of treatment for those who leave inpatient but aren't ready to return home to Raleigh.
