Lexington KY Inpatient Alcoholism Treatment & Alcohol Rehab
Last year, researchers at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released a study that showed people who reported being binge drinkers consumed 467 alcoholic drinks annually during their heavy drinking episodes.
In Kentucky, however, that number was almost 40 percent higher. At 652 drinks consumed annually by binge drinkers, the Bluegrass State ranked third, behind only Arkansas and Mississippi. Clearly, alcohol is a problem in Lexington, Ky., but the good news is that there's also a solution just down the road in East Tennessee: Cornerstone of Recovery, a substance abuse treatment center that's been offering relief for alcoholics since 1989. Cornerstone, in fact, was founded by an alcoholic who found sobriety alongside a passion for sharing it with others similarly afflicted, and for the past 30 years, we've treated individuals from Lexington, Kentucky, as well as other cities around the country.
Our methods combine traditional abstinence-based recovery tools with evidence-based clinical therapies that treat the whole person: the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual ailments that are wrapped up around an individual's alcohol consumption. Our treatment goal is to help patients understand the reasons why they continue to drink, in spite of the scorn of loved ones, the medical advice against it and the negative consequences it brings upon them. Through that understanding, they're able to implement life changes and institute new coping mechanisms that allow them to return home to Lexington with the peace of mind needed for long-term sobriety.
the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery
Cornerstone of Recovery is a comprehensive drug and alcohol addiction treatment center founded by an alcoholic who believed that sobriety is an attainable goal for anyone who suffers. From our humble beginnings as an 18-bed facility in a strip mall outside of Knoxville, Tenn., we've stoked those fires of hope to become one of the largest residential treatment providers in Tennessee, now located on a 25-acre, four-facility campus.
For those seeking addiction treatment for drugs and alcohol, we offer a full spectrum of care, from safe, medically supervised detox to residential inpatient to outpatient rehab, during which patients come to understand the nature of their disease as well as the internal damage to the body, mind and spirit that it's caused. We employ a wide variety of therapeutic tools, from Activity Therapy to Fitness to peer support groups to one-on-one counseling, all designed to give our patients the hope of long-term sobriety once they return home to Lexington.
What Does Alcoholism Treatment Involve?
In selecting a treatment center that best meets your needs, it's important to understand that sobriety isn't a one-size-fits-all approach to alcoholism. The needs of our patient population is as varied as the backgrounds from which they come, which is why we've created four unique treatment programs under the Cornerstone banner:
The Newcomer's Program is the first step on a recovery journey for those new to sobriety. It's designed to meet the educational, emotional and spiritual needs of those who are fresh in from the darkness of alcoholism, and it's the place everyone who hasn't been to an alcohol or drug rehab takes their first initial steps.
The Young Adult Program is designed for young men ages 18 to 26, many of whom find themselves caught up in the grips of alcoholism and addiction before their lives have even begun. There's more structure and hands-on therapy for young bodies and active minds, as well as an emphasis on vocational rehabilitation to offer hope for a future that's been put on hold.
The Recovery Renewal Program is designed for those who have experienced some measure of sobriety in the past but have relapsed. We find that many patients in this program have lingering issues that weren't addressed during previous treatment attempts, and it's our goal to help them identify those stumbling blocks so that their sobriety is permanent.
Finally, our Women's Only Program is a gender-specific safe space in which all female patients are introduced. It's a sorority of recovering women who lift one another up and help one another along, led by female counselors who are intimately familiar with the unique issues facing women in alcoholism and drug addiction.
Within those programs, some patients with certain vocational concerns might receive additional therapy to deal with issues posed by their careers. Our Professionals Program caters to a number of clients whose professional licenses might be in jeopardy, and our rehab facility is one of the few in the country that specializes in treating a number of transportation industry employees. That said, we accept anyone with a desire to stop drinking, because we believe anyone with the willingness can achieve sobriety.
Does Cornerstone Accept My Health Insurance?
If you've decided you're ready to do something about your problem, the next question, inevitably, is: How do I pay for it?
At Cornerstone of Recovery, we can help you make private pay arrangements and offer financial guidance on the best way to take advantage of the drug and alcohol treatment that we offer. However, if you have commercial health insurance, you likely have access to behavioral health benefits that will pay for some, if not most, of the cost. Health insurance providers are required by federal law to offer mental health and substance abuse coverage on par with medical coverage, and if you're unsure whether your insurance does or how to initiate that process, call us. Our trained and compassionate Admissions counselors will assist you in finding out those answers. Some of the insurance plans within which we're in network include:
ValueOptions/Beacon Health Options
Don't see your provider? Don't be discouraged. You won't get any help by not calling, so why not reach out and let us help you figure it out?
What Happens Next?
At Cornerstone of Recovery, we believe that any person or entity affected by alcoholism is capable of stopping drinking, losing the desire to do so and finding a better way of life. While we're technically a drug and alcohol treatment center, what we provide is something that can't be packaged or sold in physical form. It's a thing called hope, and we've been offering it for three decades in the form of a time-tested way to reclaim your future from the despair of alcoholism. Don't hesitate to call us today.
