Inpatient Alcohol & Drug Rehab Nashville TN
There are quite a few drug rehab possibilities in the Nashville area, and for good reason: From 2005 to 2010, an average of 218,000 people in the Nashville metropolitan area, ages 12 and older, reported using an illicit drug in the previous year, according to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health.
That represents 18.1 percent of the metro population, almost 4 percentage points higher than the state or national average during the same period. It hasn't gotten any better since, either: In 2017, the death rate due to drug overdoses was 32.2 residents per 100,000 people in Davidson County, higher than the state and national average. Opioid-related deaths mirrored that trend, as did those deaths attributed to heroin overdoses.
Given those numbers, there’s clearly a demand for addiction treatment … and at Cornerstone of Recovery, we recognize that sometimes you need to get out of the city where you’ve done so much of your using in order to get better. Three hours to the west, we've been offering comprehensive treatment for addiction since 1989, when we first opened our doors as a small, 18-bed drug rehab on the outskirts of Knoxville. In 2017, we moved to our current location — a four facility campus on 25 acres, halfway between Knoxville and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, that's one of the largest residential addiction treatment providers in Tennessee. From our spacious and comfortable residence tower to our state-of-the-art fitness center to patio dining overlooking a nearby river, we believe that a good drug rehab can provide both serenity and a new way to live.
At Cornerstone, that way begins with a safe, medically supervised detox regimen that lasts 3 to 5 days, followed by a transition to one of our four residential inpatient addiction treatment programs: Newcomers, for those seeking treatment for the first time; Recovery Renewal, for those who have been to drug rehab previously but have been unable to stay clean, or who have relapsed after a period of abstinence; Young Adult, an engaging program for men ages 18 to 26; and our Women's Only program, a sisterhood of recovering females who find fulfillment and validation among their peers. Within these programs, patients receive one-on-one counseling, peer support, 12 Step facilitation and evidence-based therapies, from dual diagnosis care for co-occurring mental health disorders by our psychiatric team to trauma therapy for past pain to family therapy to help divides with loved ones — who will get the opportunity to attend an intensive and immersive family therapy weekend during your stay.
At Cornerstone, an addiction treatment stay typically lasts 28 to 35 days, although that can be extended by patients who choose to take part in our Intensive Outpatient and Sober Living programs. We understand that sometimes, those who live in or near Nashville need a little more time away from it in order to get back on their feet, and we're happy to make arrangements for those individuals to stay as long as they need.
If you're a resident of Nashville and are interested in learning more, reach out to our trained and compassionate Admissions staff. We're in network with most private and commercial insurance providers, and we'll help you navigate the ins and outs of your health insurance so that you can get the most out of your benefits — while at the same time, getting the most out of the addiction treatment you need to get your life back on track.
the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery
We’re three hours east of Nashville down Interstate 40, and in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains, you’ll find a bucolic setting that’s a welcome respite to the bustle and boom of an ever-growing Music City. We’re a rehab program that’s offered treatment for drug and alcohol addictions since 1989, which means we have plenty of experience; we’re also the largest residential treatment center in the state of Tennessee, which means we have a place for you on our four-facility campus that includes a wide variety of treatment programs and therapeutic paths to help you stop using, lose the desire to use and find a new way to live.
What Do The Treatment Programs Involve?
Cornerstone of Recovery is a drug and alcohol rehab established by a business leader who lost everything due to his own alcoholism. After discovering sobriety, he put everything he had into opening up a modest, 18-bed facility in a suburban strip mall outside of Knoxville, and over the next 30 years, it's grown into one of the largest residential treatment providers in the state. Our addiction treatment programs offer a whole-person approach to drug and alcohol recovery, taking into account the individual needs of each patient and examining all areas of their lives that need attention.
Our approach is built on medical and scientific evidence that addiction is a biological, diagnostically quantifiable disease, a mental health disorder that requires a combination of compassion and rehabilitation. We emphasize to those who come to us with alcohol and drug addictions that they're not bad people who need to be good; they're sick people who need to get well, and our time-tested models of traditional abstinence-based therapy and evidence-based clinical practices provide the best path on which to do that. Whether you reside in Nashville, Tennessee, or other parts of the country, the approach to your addiction recovery is the same, and it all begins with medical detox.
A short term process usually lasting three- to five days, patients are monitored by medical staff around the clock while being administered medication to ease the symptoms of withdrawal, after which time they transition into one of four primary programs:
The Newcomers Residential Inpatient Addiction Treatment Program is for "recovery beginners," in a manner of speaking: It introduces first-time patients to a combination of clinical and traditional approaches to substance abuse treatment, including 12 Step meetings, group therapy, cognitive processing groups, activity therapy and more, all of which are designed to educate as well as rehabilitate.
The Young Adult Residential Inpatient Addiction Treatment Program is designed for men ages 18 to 26, who may have gotten involved in drugs before their lives had truly begun. A more active and vibrant program, it includes vocational therapy that allows those individuals to learn critical life skills in addition to treatment for their addiction, so that they can return home as more confident, mature and ambitious young men.
The Recovery Renewal Residential Inpatient Addiction Treatment Program is specifically designed for patients who find themselves unable to break the cycle of relapse and need a more in-depth examination of the issues that prevent them from obtaining long-term recovery. These individuals may have been to drug rehab on previous occasions or had periods of abstinence but need a more rigorous treatment regimen to stay clean.
Our Women’s Only Residential Inpatient Addiction Treatment Program gives female patients a safe place free of masculine energy and influence in which to process traumatic events specific to addicted women. It's a program of women, led by women, that nurtures and lifts up female patients so that they can return home as the strong, confident and recovering women we know they're capable of becoming.
Within those programs, patients are placed onto even more specific treatment paths, especially if they’re employed in the medical field or transportation industry. And on the other side of residential inpatient treatment, our Intensive Outpatient Program extends the safety net of recovery, allowing patients an opportunity to continue their journey while remaining on campus as part of our Sober Living community.
Wherever you fall on the socio-economic ladder, Cornerstone of Recovery has a program for you, because the goal is always the same: long-term recovery that goes hand-in-hand with a life of unlimited potential and possibilities.
Does Cornerstone Accept My Health Insurance?
If you’re examining your options for addiction treatment in the Nashville are, don’t discount Cornerstone of Recovery because of distance, and certainly don’t discount us because you believe we’re unaffordable. As one of the largest residential addiction treatment providers in Tennessee, we’re in-network with most major health insurance policies, and if you have a private health insurance plan, chances are good that your behavioral health benefits will pay for some, if not all, of your drug rehab stay.
The first step is to call us and see: Our professional staff members have worked with commercial health insurance companies for almost three decades and will fight for the maximum amount of benefits allowed under your plan. Some of the health plans we accept include:
ValueOptions/Beacon Health Options
In addition, if you’re enrolled in the Tennessee Medicaid program known as TennCare — or if you’re interested in private pay but need lower-cost alternatives — we can refer you to Stepping Stone to Recovery, our Knoxville-based sister drug and alcohol rehab that accepts TennCare.
What Happens Next?
Trust us when we tell you that we understand completely how easy it is to come up with excuses not to make that initial phone call. Perhaps you're worried about underlying health problems going untreated while you're in our care: Don't. We have nursing on campus around the clock, and our medical team will evaluate your needs upon your arrival and arrange for any care you may need to receive while you're with us.
Maybe you're concerned about receiving treatment for a co-occurring disorder: At Cornerstone, we have an on-staff psychiatric team that will examine a range of mental health issues and work to get your regulated on whatever maintenance medication you might need. You might also be concerned about the toll your absence will take on your family — the good news is that we're a straight shot down Interstate 40, and our Family Fundamentals weekend is an immersive family therapy experience that will guide both patients and loved ones through the recovery process.
Of course, there are always reasons to not call, but the biggest reason to pick up that phone is that we might just help you save your life. We can't do that, however, if the phone doesn't ring. Please, call us today and begin your journey out of addiction.
Why Consider Leaving Nashville For Addiction Treatment
It’s not always easy to reach that potential when you’re stuck in the same playgrounds, surrounded by the same playmates. Leaving Nashville may seem like a worrisome endeavor, but a re-location to a new environment, free from the stressors that surround your day-to-day life, can sometimes be the best prescription for the “medicine” you need to combat your addiction. When you’re constantly surrounded by reminders of where you got high or drunk, and you can’t get away from the faces that were a part of that wreckage, it can be difficult to ever move past them. At Cornerstone of Recovery, you’ll be three hours away from the town associated with some of your darkest days.
By taking part in our residential inpatient program, you’ll develop a whole new set of coping skills, handed down by a safety net of peers and clinically trained staff members — many of whom are in recovery themselves — that will help you become stronger, steadier and more stable, so that when it’s time to return to Music City, you can do so with the support network in place and the confidence you need to succeed as an individual in recovery.
