Inpatient Drug Rehab Louisville KY
Thanks to a rise in fentanyl-related incidents, Kentucky was the No. 5 state in the nation for overdose deaths in 2017, with a rate of 37.2 for every 100,000 people — far greater than the national average of 21.7. Louisville, Ky., wasn't spared: In Jefferson County, fentanyl was attributed to 64 percent of 426 overdose deaths in 2017, more than twice as many fatalities as those linked to heroin, according to the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy.
Addiction is rampant in the Bluegrass State, and as the largest city in Kentucky, Louisville is on the front line of the crisis. As a result, the need for effective substance abuse treatment is more critical than ever, which is why it's worth your time to cast your eyes south. Located less than four hours away, Cornerstone of Recovery has provided successful residential inpatient treatment for those struggling with addiction for 30 years. Our recovery program combines both traditional methods used by 12 Step organizations and other treatment providers around the country with evidence-based clinical methods that address a wide range of mental health problems and emotional issues that often coincide with chronic drug use.
The professional care we provide at Cornerstone of Recovery is designed to help patients understand the nature of their affliction; heal them from the turmoil they've inflicted through their drug use; and move forward in a way that sustains long-term recovery with the peace of mind necessary to accept life without the use of drugs.
the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery
As one of the premier recovery centers in the Southeast United States, Cornerstone of Recovery was founded by an individual who had discovered the spiritual and emotional freedom that recovery provides. Although his drug and alcohol addictions had cost him a career as a high-ranking business executive, he found a second calling as a recovery advocate, and in 1989, he opened a residential treatment center in a small strip mall with 18 beds and 22 staff members. Through hard work and dedication to a core set of recovery principles that have never wavered, Cornerstone has thrived over the past three decades, and today we occupy a four-facility campus on 25 acres along a tributary of the Tennessee River.
Our staff is roughly 250 strong, and the majority of those who work here are in recovery themselves. We understand those who struggle with drug addiction because we've walked those dark roads ourselves, and as it states in one particular collection of recovery literature, "the therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel."
What In Involved In Addiction Treatment Programs?
The people are at the heart of our treatment programs, but the addiction recovery we provide at Cornerstone involves so much more than just counseling by like-minded peers. From the moment you arrive on campus, you'll be escorted through the process by caring, compassionate individuals who get you assessed and oriented shortly after arrival, during which time you'll have input into an individualized treatment plan that maps out the issues, problems and areas of your life that need the most attention.
After a stay in our safe, medically supervised detox program — usually lasting three to five days — they're then assigned to one of our four treatment programs:
The Newcomer's Program, which introduces those with no prior knowledge of recovery to the basics of the process. Patients receive information on the nature of addiction and alcoholism through lectures and classes, but more importantly they're able to draw parallels to how their own lives have been affected through issues and stumbling blocks that keep them returning to their drug use even in the face of negative consequences.
The Young Adult Program is designed for men ages 18 to 26, many of whom developed a problem long before they reached maturity. As a result, these young men often come to us with little idea of who they are or what they want from their lives, so this program is a period of discovery that involves greater structure and hands-on therapy for active minds and restless bodies.
The Recovery Renewal Program is specifically geared toward those with previous treatment experiences who haven't managed to sustain recovery outside of a clinical environment. Perhaps they've managed short periods of sobriety, but for whatever reason, they find themselves caught up in issues that were never addressed. In this program, they get the opportunity to face those issues so that they can finally move forward without the encumbrance of addiction.
Finally, the Women's Only Program gives female clients a safe and supportive sisterhood of fellow women in sobriety. We find that women are often uncomfortable or unable to process issues specific to their gender if there are men present in their therapeutic groups; as a result, the Women's Program is overseen by female counselors and therapists who build patients up in the light of recovery.
After the completion of residential treatment, patients then have the option to take part in our Intensive Outpatient program, a 10-week continuation of care that adds another layer of safety and recovery knowledge. While staying on campus as part of our Support Living community, patients in this phase of treatment are given opportunities to work and volunteer locally, become involved in the East Tennessee recovery community and work toward privileges that slowly return them to a life that resembles the one to which they'll return in Louisville, Kentucky.
Does Cornerstone Accept My Health Insurance?
If you've made it this far, then you're probably wondering what the catch is. We realize that what we do sounds too good to be true, but we assure you that it's not. It is, however, a service that requires financial compensation, but as a privately owned company, we do accept commercial health insurance. Some of the plans with which we're in network include:
ValueOptions/Beacon Health Options
Just because your particular provider may not be listed here doesn't mean we don't take your plan. All it means is that you need to call us and let us figure out what you have and what coverage it provides. If you have any sort of commercial insurance, then you have co-occurring behavioral health benefits that will pay for services like substance abuse treatment. You may have a deductible, and a deposit may be required up front, but even then, we can talk you through financial arrangements that may include payment plans or other means. Navigating the fine print can be frustrating and frightening, but don't let it deter you from asking for help. Our trained and compassionate Admissions counselors are standing by to help you figure this out; please call today to get started.
What Happens Next?
They say that to start recovering, addicts have to hit what's known as a "bottom" — a low point in which the scales tip, and the pain of staying the same outweighs the pain of change. Making a decision to seek an end to our addiction can be difficult and frightening, and many addicts choose instead to linger in the familiar pain of dereliction, degradation and humiliation because the fear of the unknown, the thought of living without the use of drugs, is too great.
If it is, however, then it's time to reach out and make that initial phone call. If the life you lead is too wear or too difficult to continue on one moment more, then it's time to send up a white flag and do something different. That's where we come in. We're just down the road from Louisville, and if you're willing to put forth a fraction of the effort into getting clean that you did into staying high, then you have a solid chance of success. Call us today and get started.
Why Consider Leaving Louisville For Treatment?
Sometimes, you just need to get away. Living in active addiction day in and day out often feels like a bomb has gone off in our lives. Our homes are physical and emotional wrecks; our bodies are exhausted and broken; our circle of support has slowly shrunken until we are, in many cases, absolutely alone. On those rare occasions we're able to take a step back and examine that wreckage, we may feel overwhelmed, as if we'll never be able to put things right. We can, but sometimes calling a "time out" and getting away from it all in order to get better is what you need to begin to do that.
Treatment options are no doubt plentiful in Louisville, but there are few as comprehensive, as nurturing or as successful as the treatment services offered at Cornerstone of Recovery. By leaving Louisville and making the four-hour drive down Interstate 75 to East Tennessee, you can escape the sense of impending doom that follows you everywhere in the place you call home, dispel the darkness that has descended over everything and discover a new way to live that will allow you to return home, when you're ready, as a more peaceful, optimistic and healthy individual.
