What Is Involved In Addiction Treatment Programs?
The people are at the heart of our treatment programs, but the addiction recovery we provide at Cornerstone involves so much more than just counseling by like-minded peers. From the moment you arrive on campus, you'll be escorted through the process by caring, compassionate individuals who get you assessed and oriented shortly after arrival, during which time you'll have input into an individualized treatment plan that maps out the issues, problems and areas of your life that need the most attention.

Newcomers Inpatient Program
Those seeking addiction treatment for the first time are often lost, confused, scared and shameful. The goal of the Newcomers Addiction Treatment Program is to help patients put those feelings aside, learn more about the disease that afflicts them, and pick up healthy coping skills that can prevent them from returning to drugs as a way of dealing with life on life's terms.
Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program
Relapse isn't a requirement, but it's often a part of many individuals' recovery journeys. In our Recovery Renewal Addiction Treatment Program, we take in those who have been to a drug rehab in the past, or who had periods of clean time, and we help them build their recovery programs into stronger foundations through therapy, counseling and other tools they may have overlooked previously.
Young Adult Inpatient Program
Young men ages 18 to 26 face their own unique set of circumstances, which means they need a program tailored to active bodies and restless spirits. In the Young Adult Addiction Treatment Program, our clinical staff focuses on developmental issues, behavior styles and energy levels specific to the young adult, so that they can rediscover the potential they may have lost due to their drug use.
Women Only Inpatient Program
Our therapies and treatment approaches work the same for both genders, but in our unique Women's Only Addiction Treatment Program, we've created a haven for female patients who need to be among a sisterhood of fellow survivors in order to process issues, traumas and problems that are unique to them. It's a powerful program that helps broken women become whole again.
After the completion of residential treatment, patients then have the option to take part in our Intensive Outpatient program, a 10-week continuation of care that adds another layer of safety and recovery knowledge. While staying on campus as part of our Support Living community, patients in this phase of treatment are given opportunities to work and volunteer locally, become involved in the East Tennessee recovery community and work toward privileges that slowly return them to a life that resembles the one to which they'll return in Louisville, Kentucky.
