Inpatient Drug Rehab & Addiction Treatment Center Lexington KY
How dire is the need by Lexington residents for comprehensive addiction treatment? Consider these troubling statistics from the 2018 Overdose Fatality Report, prepared by the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy: Fayette County, in which Lexington is located, recorded 281 overdose-related deaths in 2018. It ranked second out of 120 counties for heroin-related and fentanyl-related overdose deaths. Hundreds more, no doubt, struggle with a drug problem, which means access to addiction treatment is a need that those residents of Lexington have.
Fortunately, just down Interstate 75, there's a nationally respected drug rehab called Cornerstone of Recovery, which has been helping thousands of individuals with similar problems find recovery from addiction for more than 30 years. From a four-facility campus that opened on 25 acres in 2017, we offer a full continuum of care for those in need of addiction treatment, beginning with safe, medically supervised detox from drugs and alcohol. From there, patients transition into one of our four residential inpatient programs: Newcomers, for those coming to terms with their addiction for the first time; Recovery Renewal, for individuals who have relapsed after previous addiction treatment stays or periods of abstinence; Young Adult, a more robust and active program for men ages 18 to 26; and our unique Women's Program, in which female addicts find a sisterhood of unity and camaraderie that provides a safe place in which to process issues and traumas unique to their gender.
But that's not all we offer. Our psycho-therapeutic lectures and sessions can include everything from trauma therapy to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to Schema Therapy. Our psychiatric services team will help issues who have co-occurring mental health issues like bipolar disorder and ADHD navigate the complexities of a dual diagnosis. Our family therapy will give patients and their loved ones opportunities to repair bonds broken by addiction. From Activity Therapy to Fitness Therapy, from 12 Step meetings to peer support groups, we believe that addiction treatment involves so much more than simply stopping the use of drugs.
Located halfway between Knoxville, Tennessee, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Cornerstone of Recovery offers an on-campus dining hall and fitness center, and a modern, modestly furnished residence tower where clients will stay while they're under our care. We accept most major health insurance plans, and we’re always available to discuss your needs or provide you with more information. If you’re a Lexington resident looking for addiction treatment, look a little farther to the south, and you’ll find one of the best at Cornerstone of Recovery.
What People Are Saying About Us
Alcoholism & Drug Addiction Treatment Programs
Cornerstone has developed alcohol and drug rehab & recovery programs to fit the needs of our patients. As with many things in life, there is not a one size fits all approach to treating the addiction disease. Through a proper assessment and evaluation period, Cornerstone of Recovery can make the best recommendation for each individual that will give them the best opportunity to achieve a lasting recovery.
Newcomers Inpatient Program
Clinically, the Newcomers Residential Alcohol & Drug Rehab Program is inpatient based and typically lasts between 28 and 35 days, during which time our trained counselors and other professionals develop individual treatment plans for each patient according to needs, backgrounds and situations. During that process, patients participate in a 12-Step recovery.
Young Adult Inpatient Program
Our Young Adult Residential rehab and recovery program is specifically structured for persons between the ages of 18 and 26. Understanding that this age group faces its own unique set of circumstances, our clinical staff focuses on developmental issues, behavior styles, and energy levels specific to the young adult.
Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program
Intensive residential inpatient program for those who have tried to stay clean in the past but been unsuccessful, even after exposure to an addiction treatment program and 12 step programs in the past. It’s designed to help patients target the triggers and issues that factor into their inability to stay clean and the factors that lead to a relapse
Women Only Inpatient Program
Cornerstone recognizes that women face issues in addiction and alcoholism that are unique to them. Clinically, the Womens' Programs is inpatient based and typically lasts between 28 and 35 days, during which time therapies are carried out within the safe space of a women’s only program. Group therapy, individual counseling, activity therapy, acceptance/integration therapy – they’re all designed for both the individual and the gender.
The Program Includes
the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery
Cornerstone of Recovery treats drug and alcohol addiction from individuals across the country, including many people from the Lexington area. Our recovery programs combine traditional 12 Step-based recovery with evidenced-based clinical therapies and educational tools, so that those who come to us for treatment aren't just cleaned up and sent on their way. Drugs and alcohol, we believe, are just a symptom of much deeper problems. Addicts and alcoholics aren't bad people trying to become good; they're sick people who need to get well, but they can only do that if they have an understanding of their affliction.
As part of our professional care regimen, we help them deconstruct and come to a better understanding of themselves and their disease. Issues that may have plagued them long before they ever picked up drugs and alcohol ... trauma they've endured ... emotional stumbling blocks and life traps that keep them trapped in cycles of self-inflicted misery ... the substances they continue to use in spite of negative consequences ... all of these things are put on the table at Cornerstone of Recovery, because it's only through a thorough examination of them can we begin to understand and heal them. At their core, addiction and alcoholism are diseases that affect our humanity, in that they reduce every person or entity they touch into shadowy shambles of their former selves.

Why Consider Leaving Lexington For Treatment
But wait, you might be asking, can’t I find that here in Lexington? Maybe, but at Cornerstone, we offer the added benefit of getting away from the place that’s so associated with your drug use. It’s difficult to focus on getting better when you’re worried that you’ll run into an old using buddy or dreading a return home before you even walk through the front door of treatment.
Admission to an addiction recovery program out of town, like the one at Cornerstone of Recovery, removes you from the environment that’s tied up with your addiction and allows you to become a stronger individual, so that when it’s time to return home, you do so with a clearer head and a stronger heart. And if you’re open to change, you might just find a whole new network of recovering peers that you’ll be connected to after you leave, regardless of where you all live.
