Inpatient Drug Rehab Lexington KY - Addiction Treatment Center
The nationwide drug epidemic hasn’t spared Kentucky, which makes finding a quality drug rehab more necessary than ever.
According to the Kentucky Office of Drug Control Policy, there were 1,404 overdose deaths statewide in 2016, and 162 of them were in the Lexington, Ky., area. Those numbers represent a small portion of the addicted population, however, and at Cornerstone of Recovery, our mission is to stop those individuals from succumbing to overdose.
For almost 30 years, we’ve been proving to patients who come for substance abuse treatment here in East Tennessee that addiction doesn’t have to end at a funeral home. There is a new way to live for those who want out, and sometimes that means getting out of the area that seems to be as much of a problem as the drugs that are available there. We’re less than three hours south of Lexington, Kentucky, a straight shot down Interstate 75, but the difference between the quiet serenity of our campus in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and the squalor of addiction can’t be adequately measured.
the first step to the rest of your life starts at cornerstone of recovery
Cornerstone of Recovery treats drug and alcohol addiction from individuals across the country, including many people from the Lexington area. Our recovery programs combine traditional 12 Step-based recovery with evidenced-based clinical therapies and educational tools, so that those who come to us for treatment aren't just cleaned up and sent on their way. Drugs and alcohol, we believe, are just a symptom of much deeper problems. Addicts and alcoholics aren't bad people trying to become good; they're sick people who need to get well, but they can only do that if they have an understanding of their affliction.
As part of our professional care regimen, we help them deconstruct and come to a better understanding of themselves and their disease. Issues that may have plagued them long before they ever picked up drugs and alcohol ... trauma they've endured ... emotional stumbling blocks and life traps that keep them trapped in cycles of self-inflicted misery ... the substances they continue to use in spite of negative consequences ... all of these things are put on the table at Cornerstone of Recovery, because it's only through a thorough examination of them can we begin to understand and heal them. At their core, addiction and alcoholism are diseases that affect our humanity, in that they reduce every person or entity they touch into shadowy shambles of their former selves.
Why Consider Leaving Lexington For Treatment
But wait, you might be asking, can’t I find that here in Lexington? Maybe, but at Cornerstone, we offer the added benefit of getting away from the place that’s so associated with your drug use. It’s difficult to focus on getting better when you’re worried that you’ll run into an old using buddy or dreading a return home before you even walk through the front door of treatment.
Admission to an addiction recovery program out of town, like the one at Cornerstone of Recovery, removes you from the environment that’s tied up with your addiction and allows you to become a stronger individual, so that when it’s time to return home, you do so with a clearer head and a stronger heart. And if you’re open to change, you might just find a whole new network of recovering peers that you’ll be connected to after you leave, regardless of where you all live.

Addiction Treatment Programs
Just outside of Knoxville, you’ll find a rehab facility that removes you from Lexington and helps you regain that humanity. We’re a rehab program that offers a number of different treatment options depending on your individual needs; despite our size as the biggest residential treatment provider in the state of Tennessee, we pride ourselves on a whole-person approach to treatment for addiction and alcoholism that services the needs of the individual in one of our four main programs. Those include:
The Newcomers Program, the heartbeat of Cornerstone that has provided the initial entry into recovery for addicts and alcoholics since 1989. As the first introduction to recovery for those who suffer, it provides a combination of therapy, peer support, education and nurture to give patients an understanding of their disease and a way to live on the other side of it.
The Young Adult Program, designed to give young people ages 18 to 26 the coping and life skills that might have been halted or interrupted because of their drug or alcohol use. In addition to health problems caused by drug abuse, many young men suffer from a lack of vocational ambition and a lack of direction, and the structure of this program helps them establish both, sometimes for the first time.
The Recovery Renewal Program, which gives those who have been through treatment before an opportunity to focus on the reasons they’ve been unable to maintain long-term sobriety after leaving other centers. It's a more intense examination of previously overlooked issues that may have been glossed over or downplayed during earlier treatment attempts; what we've found, however, is that without a thorough examination of our lives, those issues often raise their ugly heads and cause problems.
The Women’s Only Program, our newest treatment arrangement that’s exclusively tailored for the needs of female clients who often face unique challenges and trauma because of alcohol and drug addiction. It's a sisterhood of recovering women, led by recovering women, that offers a safe space for ladies to focus on recovery through empowering one another.
Even as a part of one of those four programs, however, patients can be assigned specialized treatment paths to assist them in recovering all aspects of their lives, including their careers. At Cornerstone, we’ve treated everyone from airline pilots to auto mechanics to housewives to ministers, because the disease of addiction doesn’t discriminate. Fortunately, recovery can be a one-size-fits-all solution as well, and that’s the ultimate destination after residential inpatient at Cornerstone of Recovery: a freedom patients have never known before, from the drugs that have enslaved them and the emotional turmoil that’s crippled them.
