Alcohol & Drug Rehab That Accepts United Healthcare Insurance Greenville SC
For residents of Greenville with a UnitedHealthcare insurance policy, there's a safety net, of sorts, located not far away, near Knoxville, Tennessee.
No one plans on developing a drug or alcohol problem, but it happens, and all walks of life are affected. That's because addicts and alcoholics aren't "bad" people who are weak or of questionable moral character; they're sick people who need the sort of addiction and alcoholism treatment that we provide here at Cornerstone of Recovery, located near Knoxville, Tennessee.
For 30 years, we've been helping those who struggle with alcohol and drugs stop using and drinking, lose the desire to do so and to find a new way to live. They come to us from across the country — including many from the Greenville area — because our work and our reputation has allowed us to develop close working relationships with most major health insurance providers, including United Healthcare. We coordinate with these companies to provide individuals like those from Greenville with a UHC plan the best care their insurance can provide, and we believe wholeheartedly that while you might find other treatment closer to home, you won't find better treatment anywhere in the country.
Why? Because Cornerstone of Recovery was founded by a recovering alcoholic, and today, the majority of our clinical staff are in recovery from addiction and alcoholism themselves. Some of them are even alumni at the very facility at which they now work. And while we've grown tremendously over the past 30 years — from 18 beds and 22 staff members operating out of a suburban strip mall, to 172 beds, more than 250 staff members and a 25-acre, four-facility campus that opened in 2017 — we still believe in the philosophy our founder envisioned: That anyone who struggles with drugs and alcohol deserves a chance at recovery from those illnesses.
At Cornerstone, that includes starting off in our Medical Detox unit, where you'll be slowly and safely withdrawn from the drugs and alcohol that plague you. That also includes entry into one of our four residential inpatient programs: Newcomers, for first-time treatment seekers; Recovery Renewal, for those whose previous attempts at drug and alcohol rehab have ended in relapse; Young Adult, for men ages 18 to 26; and our Women's Only Program, where female patients find safety and security in the sharing of common bonds. Within those programs, all patients receive one-on-one counseling; evaluation by our psychiatric team for dual diagnosis treatment of co-occurring mental health issues like depression or bipolar disorder; group therapy and 12 Step facilitation with a community of peers; educational lectures and therapy sessions using models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Schema Therapy and more; a family therapy plan that involves loved ones, should you and they be willing, in the recovery process; fitness therapy in our state-of-the-art, on-campus gymnasium; and much, much more.
At Cornerstone of Recovery, our goal is to show you a new way to live, and that means so much more than just putting down alcohol and drugs. It means taking a chance on getting out of Greenville and allowing your UnitedHealthcare plan help get you the best treatment you'll find anywhere, just a short drive away.

What Is Involved With The Alcoholism Treatment Programs?
Why leave Greenville for drug and alcohol treatment in Knoxville? Well, because in addition to the fact that we're in network and accept your United Healthcare insurance policy, we can also serve as a parachute. Many times, as we know from personal experience, addicts and alcoholics leave a wake of destruction and devastation behind them. That will have to be addressed and dealt with, but it's sometimes easier to do so when you get out of Greenville for a while, get better and return home with the tools you need not just to stay sober, but to handle life on life's terms without needing the crutch of drugs and alcohol. We'll get you clean and sober, and we'll also help you work on the reasons you continue to use drugs and alcohol, despite the fact that they're wrecking your life. Why leave Greenville? Because at Cornerstone, you'll learn how to repair that wreckage, and uncover the life you're meant to live.
Newcomers Inpatient Program
For 28 to 35 days, residents of our Newcomers Program will receive both education and healing — the former so that they come to understand the nature of addiction and alcoholism and how they're medically and scientifically recognized illnesses, and the latter so that they learn that while they're not responsible for their disease, they are responsible for their recovery. Through the tools of this program, we'll show them how to do just that.
Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program
Often, individuals who complete drug and alcohol treatment feel as if they're "cured," or that they've learned to "control" their drinking or drug use. For true addicts and alcoholics, however, such thinking often leads to a relapse — of consequences, of bad decisions, of problems and of so many other things besides just drugs and alcohol. In our Recovery Renewal Program, we'll show patients how to stop the revolving door of relapse and start living again.
Young Adult Inpatient Program
When young people grow from experimentation into full-blown addiction or alcoholism, it can be a difficult situation to address. Many adults wonder, is it just "boys being boys?" Sometimes ... but sometimes it's the start of something that can be a crippling deterrent to any future progress. In our Young Adult Program, specifically for men ages 18 to 26, we help stop a drug and alcohol problem before it completely destroys lives, and give a future back to those who suffer.
Women Only Inpatient Program
Women who face drug and alcohol problems often grapple with far different issues, traumas and experiences than their male counterparts. In fact, even addressing those things in a group that includes men can be difficult. That's why our unique Women's Only Program is designed to give female patients a safe, comfortable place in which to be themselves, confront their pain and lift other women up on a journey that's as powerful as it is rewarding.
Recovery doesn't stop after residential treatment ends. The brand of recovery we provide for residents of Greenville who come to us for help through their UnitedHealthcare policy can also include a voluntary stay as part of our Intensive Outpatient Program, which is an eight-week extension of the therapeutic process. In IOP, patients attend classes, lectures and groups for several hours each day but stay in a Sober Living community that allows them to grow, work, earn privileges and slowly but surely become responsible, productive members of society. It's a cushioned re-entry back into the "real" world, so that when the time comes to return home to Greenville, those individuals have a well-established base of recovery tools, a supportive network in place and a facility to which they can remain connected for life, if they so choose.
