Individuals with commercial or private BlueCross BlueShield policies can put their plans to work for them by calling our Admissions staff, who will help you get your recovery journey started. That may include a few days in our safe, comfortable and medically supervised detox program, which will help you wean off of the drugs and alcohol that have ravaged your mind and body, followed by entry into one of our four main residential treatment tracks: Newcomers, for those new to the recovery process and need an understanding of the disease concept as well as therapy for overcoming it; Recovery Renewal, a specific program for individuals who have been to rehab previously or who have suffered a relapse after a period of abstinence; Young Adult, a program designed for men ages 18 to 26 that takes into account the needs of restless bodies and active minds; and our unique Women’s Only Program, a safe harbor for female clients in which to process the issues unique to them.
In addition, drug and alcohol treatment at Cornerstone includes so much more: family therapy, for loved ones who want to engage in the healing process; physical fitness, in our state-of-the-art fitness center; dual diagnosis care by our psychiatric team for co-occurring mental health issues; a variety of treatment modalities, from 12 Step facilitation to a number of evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and more; and all of the amenities that the four facilities on our 25-acre campus, which opened in 2017, can offer.
For those who live in or near Chattanooga, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee will cover treatment at a number of facilities … but why go anywhere else when it can help you find hope, healing and recovery at one of the best? Learn More About Cornerstone of Recovery
What Is Involved With The Treatment Programs?
At Cornerstone of Recovery, we believe that recovery from addiction and alcoholism involves so much more than just stopping. If it were that easy, then millions of individuals afflicted with these problems could put down the drugs and alcohol and never look back. These diseases — recognized as such by the majority of the medical and scientific communities — don’t work like that, however. The body becomes dependent on them, and biological changes in the brain rewire neurological pathways that overwhelm logic and rational thinking. As a result, recovery has to address not only those physical changes caused by addiction, but the issues, traumas and ill-formed coping mechanisms that lave led to drugs and alcohol becoming such an important part of an individual’s life.
Newcomers Inpatient Program
For those emerging from the fog of addiction or alcoholism for the first time, discovering that their BlueCross BlueShield policy might pay for treatment is just the first surprise on a journey that winds its way through our Newcomers Program. We work to provide equal parts therapy and education to those with no previous treatment experience, so that those patients can return home with the knowledge and recovery to stay clean and sober.

Recovering addicts and alcoholics who relapse after previous trips through drug and alcohol rehab, or time in a recovery program, often feel discouraged and dejected. Our Recovery Renewal Program is designed to lift them up and help them discover the areas of recovery they need to strengthen, and the issues they may have overlooked during previous efforts at sobriety.

While recovery is available to anyone, the paths that lead there look different according to the demographics of our patient population. In our Young Adult Program, we recognize that men ages 18 to 26 need a more dynamic and engaging program than some of their older peers, along with a vocational component that allows them to determine what their futures may look like without the hindrance of alcohol and drugs.

Addiction and alcoholism don’t discriminate, but the issues and traumas that women face during their struggles are often far different than those of their male counterparts. Our unique Women’s Only Program is a safe space for female clients to process those issues while being empowered and lifted up by a sisterhood of fellow recovering women who work to build one another up and help one another overcome.
Learn More About The Women’s ProgramDuring treatment, individuals may take part in a number of different therapeutic approaches that are available to individuals based on their personal treatment needs. We combine the best of traditional 12 Step-based facilitation with evidence-based psychotherapies that address trauma, family-of-origin issues, tragedy, loss and more — many of which are wrapped up around a patient’s continued use of alcohol and drugs. We also offer Intensive Outpatient treatment for those who aren’t ready to return home after residential treatment; Sober Living facilities for individuals who want to remain part of the Cornerstone community while in IOP; psychiatric services for those with co-occurring mental health issues that require dual diagnosis treatment; and more. If you live in or near Chattanooga and seek drug and alcohol treatment covered by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, you won’t find a better choice than Cornerstone of Recovery.
