Alcohol & Drug Rehab That Accepts Aetna Health Insurance Raleigh NC

Residents of Raleigh with an Aetna health insurance policy are in luck, should they need the best drug and alcohol treatment provided for by their plan: It's a short drive to the west, located near Knoxville, Tennessee, and it's at a place called Cornerstone of Recovery.

Today, we're one of the largest providers of residential drug and alcohol treatment in the state of Tennessee, having moved to a new campus in 2017 that sits on 25 acres and includes such facilities as a modestly furnished residence tower, an on-campus ropes course for those who take part in Activity Therapy; a state-of-the-art fitness center used daily by patients; and much more. When our doors first opened in 1989, however, we were small in scope: only 18 beds, and only 22 staff members, but all of it fueled by the dream of our founder, William J. "Bill" Hood. As a recovering alcoholic himself, Bill recognized that the therapeutic value of one alcoholic helping another is without parallel, and ever since, we've made it our mission to draw our employees from both the local recovery community and the fields of psychology and social work.

That gives us a well-rounded staff of licensed, credentialed clinicians and therapists with recovering addicts and alcoholics who once found a new way to live at Cornerstone, having come to us from across the country — including Raleigh. As a facility that's in network with most major commercial and private insurance plans like Aetna, we take prospective patients from across the Southeast, because over three decades we've developed a reputation as the best facility at which to get help for a drug and alcohol problem.

That help starts with a 3- to 5-day stay in Medical Detox, where patients are slowly and safely withdrawn from drugs and alcohol, followed by transition to one of our four residential inpatient programs: Newcomers, Recovery Renewal, Young Adult and Women's Only, all of which are comprised of peers seeking a similar way out of the darkness and who provide one another with encouragement, accountability and camaraderie. As part of each program, patients will experience various therapies (like Dialectical Behavior Therapy or Cognitive Process Therapy, for example), attend educational lectures, sit in on processing groups and more. We'll give them an opportunity to mend bridges with loved ones in our family therapy program, and our psychiatric team will evaluate their dual diagnosis needs for co-occurring mental health disorders.

All of that, plus much more, will help them to stop using and drinking, lose the desire to do so and return home to Raleigh from Cornerstone as responsible, productive, sober individuals ready to contribute to their homes and communities.

What Is Involved With The Alcoholism Treatment Programs?

Treatment is as varied as the individuals who come to us for help. While there are commonalities across all of our programs, we individualize the treatment plans for each patient, so that the therapy we provides best meets their needs and provides them with the greatest chance at healing beyond the boundaries of simply stopping the use of alcohol and drugs. At Cornerstone, our experience has shown us that drugs and alcohol were just a symptom of other, deeper issues in our lives. If stopping was the only solution we needed, why then did we continue to return to alcohol and drugs even in the face of disastrous consequences? By the time we come to realize our inability to stop, we see that addiction and alcoholism have wrapped their tendrils around every facet of our lives, and recovery requires a new set of tools in order to get better.

Newcomers Inpatient Program

Those seeking help for a drug or alcohol problem for the first time will transition after Medical Detox to our Newcomers Program, where they'll embark on a recovery journey that provides them with an education about their affliction, as well as tools and therapies needed to address the issues and traumas connected with it. It's a 28- to 35-day program that includes group therapy, one-on-one counseling, educational lectures and much, much more.

Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program

For individuals who have been to drug and alcohol rehab in the past, or experienced periods of abstinence in recovery only to fall victim to relapse, the path back to recovery can be one filled with shame and regret. In our Recovery Renewal Program, we help those individuals put down such baggage and dive deeper into the work they need to do in order to stop the revolving door cycle of relapse, deal with previously unaddressed issues and stay sober permanently.

Young Adult Inpatient Program

Men ages 18 to 26 will find common bonds and shared interests in a group of peers of a similar age in our Young Adult Program, which takes into account the needs of younger bodies and minds. There are more physical and activity components to this program, as well as a vocational element that helps them determine what they want to do with a future that's unimpeded by the restraints of addiction and alcoholism.

Women Only Inpatient Program

Female patients seeking help for drugs and alcohol are gathered together under the umbrella of a single treatment track, because we've found that in our unique Women's Only Program, they provide one another with encouragement and accountability that's better served without the presence of their male counterparts. It's a program for women, led by women, designed to help women overcome addiction and alcoholism and become the individuals we know they can be.

Residential inpatient, ideally, lasts between 28 and 35 days, but that's just the start of the recovery process. Addicts and alcoholics who want a new way to live come to understand that true recovery means a lifestyle change — not a draconian one, but a thorough reinvention of the body, mind and spirit that's often not accomplished in a single month. That's where our Intensive Outpatient Program can help: It's an extension of the residential safety net that allows patients to continue their groups and therapy sessions for several hours a day, while they remain part of our Sober Living community and slowly transition back into society. By the time they're ready to return home to Raleigh, their Aetna insurance policy has provided them with the full blanket of recovery that Cornerstone provides, and they're ready for a life that's filled with possibilities, without needing alcohol and drugs in order to cope.
