You pay your health insurance premiums for a reason — so that when the time comes to take advantage of those benefits, you can do so without financial worry. If you're a resident of Lexington with benefits through Aetna, and you're in need of alcohol and drug treatment, you won't find a better option than Cornerstone of Recovery.

Located near Knoxville, Tennessee, Cornerstone is a short drive for those who live in or near Lexington struggling with an alcohol and drug problem. We've been in the addiction and alcoholism treatment business since 1989, and our nationally recognized reputation has made us a leading alcohol and drug rehab preferred by many insurance plans, including Aetna — because for more than 30 years, we've helped thousands of addicts and alcoholics to stop using and drinking, deal with the issues that drive their addiction and alcoholism, and help them get back on their feet as responsible, productive and sober individuals.

Their journey begins with Medical Detox from alcohol and drugs, a 3- to 5-day stay under medical supervision that allows them to safely and comfortably wean off of the substances that have caused so much chaos in their lives. Afterward, they'll transition into one of our four residential inpatient treatment programs: Newcomers, for those seeking help for the first time; Recovery Renewal, for individuals who have been to treatment in the past but have been unable to stay sober; Young Adult, a program specifically designed for men ages 18 to 26; and our Women's Only Program, set up to give all female patients a safe community in which to deal with gender-specific issues. Treatment in these programs is based on the needs of the individual, however, and while there are common elements to each — peer support groups, 12 Step facilitation, one-on-one counseling, lectures, meetings and more — we work with each patient to set up an individual treatment plan that best meets his or her needs. In need of dual diagnosis treatment for co-occurring mental health issues? Our psychiatric team will help determine the best course of treatment for bipolar disorder, depression and more. Are you dealing with trauma from loss or abuse? We have a number of therapies like Cognitive Processing Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help with that. Would you like to repair relationships with family members? We have a strong family therapy program that can involve your loved ones in the process.

At Cornerstone, whether you're from Lexington or Santa Fe, we accept you as part of our community on our 25-acre campus, to which we moved in 2017, where you'll work to heal your body, mind and spirit. We offer physical exercise opportunities in our state-of-the-art fitness center, three meals a day in our dining hall overlooking the water and a complete aftercare plan that will help you continue your recovery upon returning to Lexington. For individuals with an Aetna insurance policy, there is no better choice for addiction and alcoholism treatment than Cornerstone of Recovery.

Learn More About Cornerstone of Recovery

What Is Involved With The Alcoholism Treatment Programs?

At Cornerstone of Recovery, patients who come from Lexington aren't put onto a drug and alcohol treatment assembly line. No patient's needs are the same; therefore, it's important to us to help each one craft an individualized treatment plan that best meets his or her needs. The most important aspect of rehab is understanding that drugs and alcohol are just a symptom of the problem, and your Aetna insurance policy will cover a broad array of therapies that allow us to help you discover what led to your addiction and why you keep returning to alcohol and drugs in spite of negative consequences. Addiction and alcoholism are legitimate medical illnesses, recognized as such by science and medicine, and we employ both to help those who come to us for treatment build a strong foundation of recovery with which to move forward in sobriety.

Newcomers Inpatient Program

Individuals seeking treatment for the first time are often filled with guilt and shame and feel as if they've somehow "failed." The goal of our Newcomers Program is to help them understand that they're sick people, not "bad" people — but that through recovery, they can stop the vicious cycle of alcohol and drug use, improve their lives and emerge from the fog of addiction and alcoholism as stronger, more confident individuals.

Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program

Those who go through drug and alcohol rehab often find that sobriety is more difficult if they haven't fully addressed the underlying issues that drive them to drink and use. Sometimes, those individuals relapse, and that necessitates a return to treatment for some deeper work on themselves. In our Recovery Renewal Program, we'll tackle those unaddressed issues, so that they can get past the stumbling blocks that get in the way of permanent sobriety.

Young Adult Inpatient Program

When teens use drugs and alcohol, it's often dismissed as a rite of passage. Sometimes, that's all it is — but addiction and alcoholism know no boundaries, and young men ages 18 to 26 aren't exempt from the ravages of those illnesses. Our Young Adult Program is designed specifically for this age group, so that they can get a handle on their problems before their lives are irrevocably ruined, and discover what the future looks like without alcohol and drugs.

Women Only Inpatient Program

Female patients who come to Cornerstone for help with an alcohol and drug problem thrive when they're placed in a peer support group of other women who nurture and support them. That's exactly what our unique Women's Only Program is designed to do — creative a supportive safe space where female clients find the freedom to emerge from shells of pain and trauma, discover what life looks like without drugs and alcohol and move confidently into a rewarding future.

After completing residential inpatient treatment, those who come to Cornerstone find that their futures are blank slates, filled with possibility and potential. They then have the option of returning to Lexington, where we'll work to ensure they have the tools and resources necessary to continue to nurture their sobriety, or transition into our Intensive Outpatient Program, where they remain part of the Cornerstone community through our Sober Living housing and a regular schedule of continued therapy groups and classes. It's a way of extending the recovery safety net for those who aren't quite ready to return home, so that for an additional eight weeks — some or all of which may be covered by their Aetna policy — these individuals can strengthen the ties to a sober lifestyle that will ensure they can take full advantage of that future.
