Alcohol & Drug Rehab That Accepts United Healthcare Insurance Lexington KY
Residents of Lexington who have a UnitedHealthcare insurance policy and need drug and alcohol treatment are in luck: One of the best in the nation is located just down Interstate 75, near Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cornerstone of Recovery opened for business in 1989, and over the past three decades, we've developed a reputation as one of the top providers of addiction and alcoholism treatment in the nation. We're in network with most major private and commercial health insurance plans, which means those who live in or near Lexington who have United Healthcare can travel to Knoxville, find a way to stop drinking or using, lose the desire to do so and return home as responsible, productive members of society.
Cornerstone is located on a 25-acre campus 15 minutes from downtown Knoxville and 30 minutes from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and we provide a full continuum of care to those who seek addiction or alcoholism treatment. At Cornerstone, your UHC plan will provide you with what we call a "whole person" approach to recovery — rehabilitation for your body, mind, emotions and spirit. That starts with a 3- to 5-day stay in medical detox, where our nursing staff will help you safe, slowly and comfortable wean off of the drugs and alcohol that are part of the problem, followed by transition into one of our four residential inpatient programs: Newcomers, for those seeking treatment for the first time; Recovery Renewal, for individuals who have been to drug or alcohol rehab in the past but have been unable to remain sober or who have relapsed; Young Adult, for men ages 18 to 26; and our Women's Only Program, a place where female clients can find unity and safety.
Patients of each program will be exposed to a broad array of therapeutic services, from trauma therapy to psychiatric dual diagnosis care for co-occurring mental health issues like depression; from family therapy involving loved ones to Activity Therapy on our on-campus ropes course; from physical exercise in our state-of-the-art fitness center to one-on-one counseling and peer support groups. At Cornerstone, we believe that drugs and alcohol are part of the problem, but they're not the whole problem — and the issues, traumas and life events that keep individuals returning to drugs and alcohol even in spite of negative consequences need to be addressed so that healing can take place.

What Is Involved With The Alcoholism Treatment Programs?
The treatment process begins with a phone call to our Admissions team, which will help determine the extent of your UnitedHealthcare plan coverage and how best to put it to use helping you get better. We'll work out an arrival time from Lexington, and once you do, your new way of life can begin. At Cornerstone, you'll find a dedicated team of individuals made up of recovering addicts and alcoholics drawn from the local recovery community, many of whom are former Cornerstone patients now dedicated to helping others, as well as licensed and credentialed therapists, nurses, counselors and doctors. We'll work with you to devise an individualized treatment plan that best meets your needs and help you deal with the issues that were caused by or predated your alcoholism and addiction. At Cornerstone, we believe that addicts and alcoholics aren't "bad" people who need to be "good" — they're sick people who need to get better, and that's where we come in.
Newcomers Inpatient Program
In our Newcomers Program, patients seeking help for the first time will learn about the nature of the disease concept — how drugs and alcohol can precipitate biological changes in the mind and body that lead to a cycle of repetition despite a desire to cut back or stop. It's a combination of therapy and education, so that these individuals deal with their issues, learn better ways of coping and accept themselves as sick people instead of weak ones.
Recovery Renewal Inpatient Program
While many people go to drug and alcohol rehab and get their lives back on track, others find that long-term sobriety is more difficult than they thought. Perhaps there are deep-seated issues that weren't addressed; maybe they weren't given the right combination of recovery tools to maintain their growth. Either way, our Recovery Renewal Program is a deeper dive into the process so that those individuals can stop the revolving door cycle of relapse.
Young Adult Inpatient Program
It's often difficult for young men to identify and connect with older peers. If they have a drug and alcohol problem, their experiences are often vastly different than those of older addicts and alcoholics. That's one of several reasons we've created a Young Adult Program for men ages 18 to 26, where they can share commonalities, take part in more active and engaging therapy and work on a plan for their futures after treatment that doesn't involve addiction or alcoholism.
Women Only Inpatient Program
Women struggling with addiction or alcoholism have unique needs and face different issues than their male counterparts. Over the 30 years we've been providing treatment, we've come to see that female patients can heal stronger when they're immersed in a sisterhood of supportive recovering women, all of whom work together to build one another up, hold one another accountable and find the qualities in one another that are often hidden when they look in the mirror.
After residential inpatient treatment, residents of Lexington with a UnitedHealthcare plan may decide it's time to return home. Many others, however, are just getting started on their recovery journey, which is why we encourage everyone to extend that safety net and take part in our Intensive Outpatient Program. It's an additional eight weeks of therapy during which participants live in our Sober Living community and take part in groups and classes for several hours a day, while at the same time taking their first sober steps back into the "real" world. The goal is to allow them time to re-acclimate slowly to a society they're navigating without the crutch of drugs and alcohol, so that when it's time to go back to Lexington, they do so as responsible, productive and confident individuals well-prepared to stay clean and sober permanently.
